As the title says, today I tried to get a lock on Eutelsat 5 West A (5.0W) at 11509MHz. This transponder is modulated with DVB Newtec 8PSK.
To make it short: none of my satellite meters was capable of getting a signal lock.
Still, the Kathrein MSK 33 could at least give a hint on the modulation through the constellation diagram, despite of only being able to demodulate QPSK.
I tried the Spaun Sparos 609, as well. Naturally it could not lock, either, despite having a DVB-S/S2 tuner:
