New tool: VMA Stream Reader

The brand new VMA Stream Reader allows to tune into satellite transponders using PC satellite tuners, which are compatible with CrazyCat’s Streamreader (https://sourceforge.net/projects/crazyscan/).

Experience an interactive RF spectrum, where you can execute a blind scan on the desired frequency by just double clicking it.

See a comprehensive constellation diagram, which allows to evaluate a range of problems.

And then there is the unique Auto Scan, which allows to determine all transponders of the current spectrum or the whole satellite in record time, by doing a spectral pattern analysis.

The resulting transponder data can be exported as a common *.ini file, as used for instance by DVB Viewer and other similar software.

The VMA Stream Reader is, of course, fully integrated into the VMA Video Analyser package. The workflow goes from reception in VMA Stream Reader, to transport analysis in VMA Transport Stream Analyser, over to visualization of the TV/Radio services in VMA Mosaic and, finally, to video analysis in VMA Video Analyser.

If you made it until here, the good news is: VMA Stream Reader is free! Just download the VMA Video Analyser package and use VMA Stream Reader without having to request any license. It can be used with any transport analyser – configure the outbound UDP port and capture the stream with VLC, TSReader or any other software.

As a final note: VMA Stream Reader contains some functionality for the visual impaired users. It was my first attempt to do this and it may or may not be useful. I am open to suggestions on making this tool more accessible.
