The latest version of VMA Transport Stream Analyser introduces full support for MPE/IP (Multiprotocol Encapsulation) streams, allowing engineers to decode and analyse IP data directly from DVB transport streams.
With this new feature, users can now:
- Detect and list MPE sections within the transport stream in real time.
- Decode encapsulated IP packets and display their destination addresses, ports, and packet rates.
- Forward extracted IP traffic over UDP for external monitoring or playback.
- Instantly launch VMA Mosaic, VMA Video Analyser, or any third-party player to visualise the decoded content.
This enhancement enables VMA TSA to handle data broadcasting applications, such as IP over DVB, hybrid data services, and even contribution feeds encapsulated via MPE.
The integration is seamless—once a PID containing MPE data is detected, the analyser automatically reconstructs the IP datagrams, making the analysis workflow as intuitive as monitoring any video or audio service.
As shown in the screenshots, MPE/IP decoding can deliver both live IPTV streams and radio data services, while retaining VMA’s familiar interface and performance.
With this addition, VMA Transport Stream Analyser consolidates its role as a true “Swiss-knife” for broadcast engineers—covering video, audio, and IP-based data in one unified tool.
