Browser based Video Delay

The Browser-based Video Delay is a lightweight, installation-free web application that introduces a precise, user-defined delay to a live video and audio source directly in the browser using standard Web APIs. It is designed for situations where a simple, configurable delay is required without deploying dedicated hardware or software.

The application buffers decoded video frames and applies delay, allowing real-time adjustment of latency in milliseconds. Video and audio remain synchronised while the delay value is changed live, making it suitable for practical monitoring and timing experiments. Basic controls are provided for video source selection, audio enable/disable, and horizontal video flip.

Operation is intentionally non-intrusive: no plugins, no streaming backend, and no forced fullscreen behaviour. The settings menu can be opened using F1 or a mouse/touch click, while fullscreen mode is controlled explicitly by the user via F11 (on desktop browsers). All processing is performed locally in the browser; no video or audio data is uploaded, stored, or transmitted.

This tool is particularly useful for quick monitoring, delay alignment tests, educational demonstrations, and ad-hoc troubleshooting, especially when working with webcams, capture devices, or browser-accessible video sources. It is intended to complement professional delay units and broadcast equipment rather than replace them.
