Online Waveform & Vectorscope – Browser-Based Video Analysis

VMA – Simple Waveform & Vectorscope (HTML) is a browser-based video and audio analysis tool designed for quick visual inspection of signal characteristics without installing dedicated software. It operates entirely locally in the browser and supports both local video files and live webcam input, making it suitable for fast checks, demonstrations, and educational use.

For video analysis, the tool provides luma and RGB waveforms, RGB parade, and a colour vectorscope, allowing users to assess luminance distribution, colour balance, saturation, and clipping behaviour. Additional visual aids such as clip checking, false-colour exposure, and zebra-style indicators help identify over- and under-exposed regions and verify legal signal ranges. An RGB histogram / parade view is also available for inspecting tonal distribution across channels.

Audio analysis features include a real-time audio spectrum, stereo phase display, and an approximate loudness (LUFS) readout, enabling basic verification of audio presence, balance, frequency content, and phase coherence alongside the video signal. These tools are intended for indicative analysis rather than compliance certification.

The application is optimised for interactive use, with adjustable quality and pixel density controls to balance performance and visual detail depending on the device. All processing is performed locally: no media is uploaded, stored, or transmitted.

This tool is best suited for first-level analysis, exploratory inspection, teaching, and quick troubleshooting.
