🧩 Monitor / Probe Architecture
The solution is split into two components:
VMA Probe (Remote Agent)
Runs near the signal source — headend, uplink rack, satellite receiver room, IPTV gateway.
Responsibilities:
- Receive UDP TS (recommended usage with TBS-6508 and VMA Monitor)
- Extract SI tables and per-service data
- Generate video thumbnails
- Compute metrics every second
- Send metrics securely to the central Monitor
- Extremely lightweight
Each probe can monitor:
- 1 full TS
- No practical limit on the number of Probes per Monitor
- Several probes can run on one computer
VMA Monitor (Central Server)
A web-based dashboard aggregating the incoming data.
